ABOUT THE MISSION

The FAMILYMISSION (NGOS) Started in Liberia with FAMILY LIBERIA (CWP)In 2001 September and move unto SIERRALEONE where FAMILY SIERRALEONE (CWP) begin 2005 september after which we came to The Gambia. FAMILY GAMBIA (CWP)with office in Lamin Sanchaba Western Region oppersite the St. Peters Upper Basic December 31,2009.

The FAMILY MISSION (NGOS) are register and accredited in accordence with the law in every country as it exist, the organization comprises of both women and men in leadership and the main activities is to develop and equip CHILDREN for capacity building in skills and Peace Education as well Evangelism.

The CHILDREN WELFARE PROGRAM (CWP) around the region is trying hard to meet the needs of destitute in the communities where she is operating such as GARDNERSVILLE LIBERIA, DWARZAR FARM SIERRALEONE and the current zone in LAMIN THE GAMBIA. We are working towards children in our weak way looking out there for philentropist to help this good gesture.

 ABOUT THE VOLUNTEERS

 The VOLUNTEERS of this MISSION ARE dedicated to serving the needed chrildren, Low income perent children, and street children lootering in the communitis where we work, with out a fix salary or compensation due to the fact that they have dedicated themself to this humanitiran responsibilties in other to help deliver children in this part of the world where  children are really in need.

These Volunteers are commited because of their desire to help humanity, in that loving our neighbor as our self not with standing the TRAINING received from different ORGANIZATION SUCH AS UNHCR and The Family INTERNATIONAL  AND OTHER WELFARE INSTITUTIONS WAS USED TO help developed our capacities IN CARRING OUT THIS RESPONSIBILITY. THIS IS WHY WE THINK PHILENTROPIST SHOULD LOOK IN THIS DIRECTION IN OTHER TO HELP A NEEDED CHILD.

These are Volunteers striving to make the CWP sustinable but this can not be done except by the assistance of donors.

CHILDREN, Youth and Girls Activities Under (CWP & Peace Education) Family Liberia, SierraLeone & The Gambia

Children activities begin in The Gambia with  Computer Litricy along side with Peace Education after the training of mission staff and volunteers in December 2009 the mission started with Peace Education and later launch a  computer Litricy project in September 2011,as the program went on it took a different trent in the area of English Litricy and Auto Card /Architectural Drafting from January 2012 with more destitute been part of the Program.

we Experence more Arabic Students for English Litricy while More Youth for Auto Card and Peace Education.The program had graduated first batch of computer students between September 2011to December 2011 the second batchof computer graduate begin from March 2012 to June 2012 while the first batch English Litricy begin from March 2012 to June 2012 with the Auto Card begining from March 2012 to September 2012 at the same time we look up to hosting series of Peace Education Training and Workshops for both the Public and Community //

 Family Gambia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to assist destitute pupils in the different  regions as well cover a greater part of the Republic of The Gambia.

The project is really running under difficult condition and we think tthis is a concern for all. We dont think it is a crime to beg for assistance, this is why we are watching out there for any phylantropist organisation or individual.

DESTITUTE  CHILDERN AND YOUTH IN THE PROGRAM\\\

The Destitute in the program are committed to attending  the program with out FEET WEAR, COPY BOOKs, PENCILS,AND UNIFORM AND they are been taken care of by the volunteers directly even their lunch some time comes from the volunteers. these children can not even pay the little sustianable fees been requested for the program been, that their parent are low income parent with the majority not working this again have become another difficult constrian in the Liberia & SierraLeone project.

This is major due to the fact that Liberia & Sierra Leone are just from WAR the lack of employment in the country up to present.

Destitute are made up of 80% of the program there is a greater need of support to desttute in the program. 

PROBLEM AND CONSTRAINT FACING THE PROGRAM

 The major constraint facing the Program right now is the lack of proper SHELTER,  DESK FURNITURE AND STATIONARY at the same time an over crowding of classes  the lessfortuniate and desitute with in the CWP schools are with out proper facilities such as computers and stationaries to meet the needs of the needed not with standing we continue to be committed to the welfare of the needed we are therefore calling on phylentropist Organisation and individual to assist in the reduction of these  constraint been face by the Family Liberia and SierraLeone Children Welfare Program academic programmes.

PROJECT UNDER TAKING BY VOLUNTEER CHILDCARE OFFICERS

 Presently after the war the street are now another concern for volunteers who are caring for these children so they have decided to enback upon a fencing project inother to save Children from car accident as well as save them from running into vihicles  during sports and (P E) we are calling on philentropist to assist with what ever they can please some one help with the delapidated condition in the CWP schools.

CHILDREN ACTIVITIES ON GOING IN SIERRALEONE

Children activities on going in FREE TOWN begin with accessment in two major communities known as KRU BAY AND DWARZER FARM THESE COMMUNITIES ARE THE MORE DEVASTATED AREA WITH IN THE CITY but with limited resources the mission decided to begin work in the DWARZER FARM COMMUNITY up one of the Lion mountian of the city this area was formerly use for tourism in Free Town city but due to the war the native who floded in to the city and had no where to live decided to move up those mountains to live.Majority of which are poor dwellers as well as people who have not been living in cities.

We started by first training Outreached and Child care office to meet the need of children lootering and sitting home who parent were unable to sent them to school I mean public schools if these parent could not adfore to sent their children to the public school because they were out of jobs. The mission saw that this was a case we begin mobalazation for school to begin in SEPTEMBER 2005 AND THIS was possible by the grace of God in Jesus name with the first class beginning under a Tapoline shelter with this parent were over warm for their children beginning school again for the first time this is how it all begin Free Town. At least the Program with the help of Family Gambia Family SierraLeone CWP can boast of an earth bricks Shelter up a mountain we are worrior over the construction of concrete Sheter The schools in Liberia & Sierra Leone are been used to deseminate  Peace Education to pupil in schools public and pravate schools are not prepard to allow Peace Education in schools in Monrovia & Freetown cities family mission is really trying her weak way to deseminate The Peace Education massage through her CWP academic, computer & English Litiricy program, we are trying hard to make this program sustianable by building Shelters in Liberia, SierraLeone & The Gambia.

DESTITUTE IN THE PROGRAM

There are lot of destitute children,youth,and teachers in the program in Dwarzar farm Free town, Garnersville Monrovia and Lamin Sanchaba Banjul The Gambia as well as orphans and street children along with children who parent lost from them during the war condition is pittiful but the volunteers are trying their best just imagine volunteers along with  parent and children usually mold earth bricks for construction of their a new school shelter they all join in to tell you how much they needed the school but children in the program are face with so much problem that I can not name, but if you need more information Family SierraLeone, Family Liberia & Family Gambia contact the International Coordinator for Project Telephone (220-9121240/220-6573187/220-7007156) The Gambia West Africa.

PROBLEM AND CONSTRENT FACING THE PROGRAM

The problems and constraint facing the program in free town SierraLeone,Liberia & The Gambia presently incoulde the following

1) The need to extend the present shelter as well change its structure to a Concrete building

2) The need for durable shelter to replace the pure earth bricks shelter that was built with out cement as we all know that SierraLeone is a rainy country as well purchase a bigger plot of Land.

3) Stationaries such ,copy books, pencils.Subject books for children to learn properly as well Peace Education Books & materials for our schools and other public pravate schools those countries.

4) desk and other necesery school materials

5) feeding also a major need as well as use clothing and shoes

6) Save drinking water you can hardly get water up those mountains there is a need for hand pump

    but who to help children are drinking dirty water come and visit for your self as it is very difficult. we invite you to visit for your self .

CHILDREN ACCESSMENT IN THE GAMBIA

 Begin SEPTEMBER,2006 the Gambia work for extention of the CHILDREN WELFARE PROGRAM was not as in Liberia and SierraLeone, where there was a need for nursery and primary school for Children but, here in the Gambia it was different during our accessment parent cry to us saying after primary and junior school their children only sat down during nothing but lottering around the community because they had no job to earn money for their children to learn craft and skill training as well as they could not afford to sent their children to compleate high school neither collage.

they said as the volunteers can see there is only one public Technical school and a newly exstablished university in the country and they are accepting only High school gradute with lot of fees attach how could they the lessfotnate ever help their children in other to be useful citizen, they where therefore appealling for the volunteers to begin a free skill Training because even the few private Institution offering training were collecting high fees this was parent appeal!.

 PROBLEM AND CONSTRAINT IN STARTING THE PROGARM

 How could such a work begin in a country that is depending only on tourism as GNP with limitted businesses and company our volunteers were trained to lobby but for the Gambia it is not possible because of less industrous activities taking place so we were advice that we begin the Training of staff that could hander The vocation and skill training school (VOST) project that is to begin with the limited resources avilaible from friends but this was not still enough as we drag on with the preparation for staff Training in 2010 January for about eleven Gambians volunteers avilaible  but no funds for training to start at the stipulated date set concern is been raise in the Gambia by parent and volunteers while Liberia and SierraLeone are also under constrent.

 The finacial constraint and need to continue this good work have move the mission  missionaries and volunteers to begin looking out for assistant we are therefore appealling to philenthropic organization and indeviduals to help these destitute Children in the west africa region please! Please help  not withstanding we are determine to begin staff training by september 2010 after which we are going to lunch a computer literacy project for children and adult literacy for parent who continue to appeal for learning how to read and write as this project will be covering Lamin, Abuko, Banjullindin Bumsumbala  and Brikama we went out side Banjul city about ten kilometers away from the center of Serrekunda in to Lamin Sanchaba Lamin Villege.

LOOKING UP TO WHAT THE FEATURE HOLDS FOR CHILDREN IN THE GAMBIA

We appeal for your help as the international coordinator was regeted VISA while try to go for humanitarian visit to the Netherlands in order to accquant Humanitarian organizations with situation on the ground.

But not withstanding The mission have kick up CWP Gambia alongside Peace Education in the greater Banjul area know as Western Region of the country since 2010 up to present.

we celebrated the World Peace Day during September 2010 in grand stile with newspapers coverages as schools attending the th march from NTC Lamin to Limin Sanchaba where we had an indoor program in the St. Peters Lower Basic School Lamin Sancha with from the surrounding villages such as Banjullinding, Abuko and Daranka village we hope to celebrate World Peace Day 2012 september along  with many upper basic and lower basic school this time after which photos will be coming soon. watch out for more information on 2012 as well our news letters.
